Dental Implants and 3D Imaging

Call today, (303) 323-8149, to take advantage of our February special: free sedation for new patients. Some restrictions apply – when you call, we’ll give you more details!

Dental implants can be the perfect solution for missing teeth – in many cases, a better solution than a bridge or dentures. The dental implant procedure involves multiple steps, including the placement of a post, to which a crown is permanently attached.

In order to help achieve even more precision in placing the dental implant post, we’re now using a 3D imaging X-ray system. This state-of-the-art imaging technology lets us see teeth, roots, tissues, bones, and nerves – all in high-definition detail.

As an added bonus, with 3D X-rays, you’re exposed to less radiation than you would receive with traditional X-rays, and it’s super easy to have the X-rays taken. No having to endure bitewing X-rays placed in the back of your mouth. Instead, you just bite down on a stick, the 3D imaging scanner circles around your head, and in an instant, we have the images we need to know exactly how to place your dental implant post.

Because the dental implant post is attached to the jawbone, many of our patients elect to have sedation to help them through this part of their implant procedure.

We have three sedation options, and in a free consultation, we can talk with you about which option would be best for you. The sedation choices are:
IV sedation (you’ll be under general anesthesia for the entire procedure)
oral sedation (you’ll be “conscious” but mostly unaware of your surroundings and the passage of time)
laughing gas (you’ll still need Novocain, but nitrous oxide can help relax you

This 3D imaging technology is brand new, it’s cutting edge, and we’re excited to be one of the few dental offices in Denver (or throughout Colorado) to have it! It’s part of our ongoing commitment to providing you with the highest quality dentistry.
