How To Change Dentists

If you’re looking for a new dentist, we would love to meet you! Please click here to schedule a free dental consult.

Changing to a new dentist is easier today than you would think! No matter what the reason for switching dentists or dental offices, the process is simpler than you might realize and we will be here to help you.

Come In For A Free Dental Consultation
You can start the process of changing dentists by scheduling a free dental consultation. In this consultation, we can talk about your dental health history, your concerns, and your goals and desires. If you’re interested in sedation dentistry, we can also go over your options and talk about which type of sedation may be best for you. You can also skip the consultation and just schedule an appointment for a cleaning and exam, if you would prefer.  It’s important to us that we’re the best dentist for you.

Check Your Dental Insurance Plan And Benefits
When moving forward on your decision to switch dental offices, if you have a PPO (preferred provider) plan, you should check to make sure that the dentist is in network. By staying in network, in general, you’ll pay less.

Request Your Dental Records
Once you make the decision to come to switch dentists, you can contact your previous dentist and ask for your records and/or X-rays. Typically, they’ll ask you to sign a release, and then they’ll e-mail or mail your dental records directly over your new dentist. Depending on the circumstances, you may also want to or need to pick up your records from your old office, which is also an option. Whichever route you decide to take, though, it’s important to know that your dental records belong to you, and you shouldn’t feel concerned about asking for them.

Get Off To A Fresh Start
On the other hand, if you would prefer not to contact your previous dentist, no worries. We can take updated X-rays, gather information about your dental health history, and get you off to a fresh start.
